Description
Sterling Silver Trinity Ring.
The Celtic Trinity Knot, referred to by a few as the Triquetra which is Latin for three-cornered. The Trinity Knot design is one of the most common of Celtic knots and in fact if you look closely most other knots are based on this one. There are many schools of thought when discussing it's meaning. All of the various interpretations agree on one thing; a culmination of three parts as one. For example, thousands of years after its origin Christians adopted the Trinity Knot as a representation of The Holy Trinity - Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Whereas, it is believed that one of the earlier Celtic schools of thought saw the trinity knot as the drawing of the three inherent feminine powers: Maid, Maiden, Crone. Still another understanding can be found in a more metaphysical arena where the three corners represent mind, body and spirit or earth, sea and sky or the three seasons of ancient Ireland.
The modern interpretation is that of the continuum of the line, no discernible beginning and no end. As in there is no end to your friendship, love and commitment. The best part is that, as has been done for thousands of years - you can create a meaning that suits you!
